START PREPPING FOR THE PLASTIC BAG BAN
In May, we visited several FAB FULTON-area businesses with New York Department of Sanitation (DSNY) rep Pedro Suarez, who provided information and resources regarding the upcoming Foam Ban. (Again, it's July 1 that violations begin!) While out in the district, Suarez had conversations with many of you about the upcoming Plastic Bag Ban. Starting March 1, 2020, New York State will prohibit the distribution of single-use plastic carryout bags, with limited exceptions. To support these efforts to reduce wasteful single-use bags, NYC has enacted a local law which authorizes a five-cent fee on paper carryout bags, also taking effect on March 1, 2020.
