MIDSUMMER MADNESS
Can you believe it’s already nearly midsummer? We can — everything’s in full swing with hot weather, sunny days, and lots of FREE activities in the FAB Fulton neighborhood! Save the dates for these can’t miss events:
- Jazz at Jitu is taking a break in July but will be back in August and September with live jazz music on Jitu Weusi Plaza in Clinton Hill. Until then, check out the Fort Greene Jazz Festival, set for Sat., July 13; you’ll most likely see many artists on the bill that have performed on Fulton Street!
- Keep moving this summer with our FAB Fitness Evening Exercise series, made possible in part by The Brooklyn Hospital Center! We’ve partnered with Prema Yoga Brooklyn (976 Fulton) this month for a cool block of fun, movement-oriented sessions at Jitu Weusi Plaza, featuring Salsa, Zumba, and HIIT instruction. Bring some water, wear some sneakers, and get ready to MOVE! Check out the dates here.
- FAB Flicks continues with another classic movie in Fort Greene this month, “The Taking of Pelham 123.” Starring Denzel Washington and John Travolta, this action film was released in 2009, as were all our films this season, curated by BAM to celebrate FAB’s 15th anniversary! Come check out this flick on July 11; movie starts at dusk in The Backlot (650 Fulton).
- Stretch it out with us this summer — Community Yoga sponsored by NYC DOT, NYC SBS, and The Brooklyn Hospital Center is back! Join sessions with Shala Yoga at Fowler Square and kids’ yoga time with neighborhood yogi Tiffany Ratliff in Gates Avenue Plaza, all FREE! See all the dates here.
- Also, Soul Summit returns to Fort Greene Park on Sun., July 7 — head to the park for house music, afro beats, and more from 3 – 8 pm! Be sure to stop by a FAB Fulton eatery before or after the party in the park!
NO SUMMER RECESS FOR RAT ACADEMY

Learn about rat prevention methods, and best practices to keep rats out of living spaces by baiting and trapping. This FREE training is recommended for homeowners and tenants, building supers and staff, business owners, and managing companies. Register now! Click here.
WHAT’S NEW?
Have you seen our new Pet Waste Stations? When walking your dog around Fowler Square Plaza, Gates Avenue Plaza, or Jitu Weusi Plaza, please feel free to take a bag to use to pick up your pet’s waste. Dispose of it in a nearby trash receptacle. We’ll be monitoring the boxes to keep them stocked with bags.
We love doggies, but we love clean public spaces, too! Clean up after your pets to help keep our areas nice for the whole neighborhood to enjoy!
